Free Stuff

Letterheads 2018: London Calling will feature a range of free opportunities for the public to learn about and appreciate the work of sign writers/painters and lettering professionals. Promising a visual feast for visitors to indulge in, there will be an exhibition, demonstrations, a screening room, behind-the-scenes tours and a glowing alphabet peep show.

The following features are free for the public to view 11am – 6pm (Thursday to Saturday, 16th – 18th August) and 11am – 4pm (Sunday 19th August)

Exhibition

The Grand Exhibition of the Pre-Vinylite Society: An 18th Century Revival will exhibit the work of contemporary sign writers in response to pieces described in the catalogue of the 1762 Grand Exhibition of the Society of Sign Painters. Free. Find out more…

Screening Room

Showcasing a curated collection of short films, the screening room will allow visitors to learn more about the craft and those that practice it, while also providing an opportunity to rest tired feet. Free. Find out more…

Tours

The top floors of the venue are given over to the ticketed part of the event, aimed at sign writers and other lettering professionals. However, a series of tours will allow visitors to get a behind-the-scenes look at what happens at a Letterheads event. Free but with optional charity donation. Find out more…
